Emergency Food Assistance Fund
Emergency Food Assistance Fund
Because of the ongoing government shutdown and the disruption to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, many families in our community are struggling to afford groceries. The need for food assistance has surged, and our pantry shelves are being stretched to meet the growing demand.
Your gift to the Emergency Food Assistance Fund provides immediate relief for vulnerable families, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
This fund supports our food security efforts, including the Harvest Food Pantry, which distributes an average of 75 lbs. of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and dry goods to each family every week. In 2024, over 1.2 million lbs. of food were distributed to more than 10,000 Sarasota families. The Pantry also serves as a resource for other local nonprofits and special outreaches, such as group homes for foster children and the elderly, as well as Harvest House clients.
